For Immediate Release:

April Ron Errett Show: Post-Civil War Mercer County

The Mercer County Historical Society Executive Director, Bill Philson, will be a guest on the Ron Errett Radio Show on News Talk 790, WPIC, on Tuesday, May 20.  The topic will be Post-Civil War Mercer County.  A viewer phone-in time is included in the show.  This may include discussions on at least four smaller, but interlinked subjects—the Grand Army of the Republic (GAR), the Sons of the GAR, Pennsylvania’s Soldiers and Sailor’s Orphan’s Home and School located in Mercer, and celebrations for fallen comrades and heroes—Memorial Day is coming!

This program is available via the internet and is a live stream at www.790wpic.com.

Philson’s regular guest spots are broadcast on the third Tuesday of each month at 5:00 p.m.  Each month a different topic is discussed and questions answered.

The Ron Errett Show has been on WPIC for about 20 years, providing the community with quality local news talk.  Errett aims to keep his listeners informed and entertained with the modern day equivalent of the town hall meeting.

Please direct questions about Philson’s participation on the show to the Mercer County Historical Society at 724-662-3490.
