Mercer County Historical Society’s Rural Life Museum Opening

As of May 1, 2011, the Rural Life Museum of the Mercer County Historical Society will be open on Sundays from 1:00 to 5:00 p.m. The season will run through October 2011.

The Rural Life Museum is located behind Avalon Springs (the old Mercer County Home) about a mile north of Mercer Borough on PA Route 58—drive under the elevated walkway in front of Avalon Springs, and look to your right to see the museum. Dale Boyd returns as the curator.

The Rural Life Museum celebrates Mercer County’s agricultural and rural life—from family life to working the fields and from earliest days of Mercer County to yesterday.  Stop and see what we have to show you!  The exhibits are child-friendly and there is never any admission fee.
