Mission Statement

“The Mission of the Mercer County Historical Society is to collect and preserve artifacts, manuscripts, published materials and records relating to Mercer County’s pre-history and history and to use these to increase public awareness and appreciation for Mercer County’s heritage.  The Society will strive to provide and promote educational opportunities connected with Mercer County history through its museum, library and archives, living history programs, oral history project, publications program, and historic sites and buildings.  The Society will also encourage the preservation of materials, sites and buildings that are significant to the County’s history but which do not fall under the control of the Society.”
